Jesus and Easter

When you talk about Easter, you cannot avoid talking about Jesus Christ. There is no Easter without Jesus. Jesus is the reason for the season-Easter. So, who is Jesus? What did He come to do? And what is Easter all about?
First of all, Jesus is the Son of God according to Matthew 16:16 and Romans 1:1-4. Secondly, He is the Saviour of the World (John 4:41-42) and thirdly, He is the Lord of heaven and earth (Matthew 28:18-19).

So why did Jesus come? Or what exactly did He come to do?

    1. He came to Take away the sin of the world (John 1:29)
    2. He came to give us Eternal life (1 John 5:11-13, John 10:10)
    3. He came to make us Sons of God (1 John 3:1-2)

The Bible says, “The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world” (John 1:29).
Some people have said Jesus was the greatest martyr. No, He wasn’t. His death on the Cross was not a martyr’s death. A martyr is one who stakes his life for his beliefs and dies for them. Jesus didn’t die for His beliefs, for He was not a martyr but a sacrifice. He gave up Himself of His own free will, for you and me! Glory to God!

Jesus died on the cross, He was buried but after three days He Rose Again and Ascended to Heaven to the Father. Founders and leaders of many religions like Budism, Islam, Shintoism, Atheism died and their bodies decayed here in this world and are still stuck in their graves till tomorrow; but Jesus is risen! He is not in the grave, He is risen and alive forever more! And He said, “Because I live, you will live also.” Hallelujah! Bury the Truth and it will Rise, bury a lie and it will rot. Jesus is the Truth and He is Risen! Is that Agreed? Well, what do you say? Jesus said, I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life; NO ONE comes to the Father except by Me (John 14:6).

So, what is Easter all about then?

This is what Easter is all about: “Jesus came to take our place and pay the full penalty for our sins. He took our place of condemnation and punishment, and gave us His place of righteousness.” John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world (of people), that He gave His only begotten Son Jesus, that anybody who believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” If you believe that Jesus is the Son of God and that He died to save you, then the salvation He purchased with His death belongs to you.

If you are not a Christian or not saved / born again; do you want Jesus to take away your sins? Do you want to receive Jesus in your heart as Lord and Saviour today? If you want to receive Jesus in your life Now, pray this prayer:
“Oh Lord God, I come to You in the Name of Jesus Christ. I believe in my heart that God raised Jesus from the dead. I confess with my mouth that Jesus is the Lord of my life. Dear Jesus I ask You to come into my heart to be the Lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I am washed by the blood of Jesus and cleansed from all my sins. I declare that I am saved; I am born-again; I am a child of God! I now have Christ dwelling in me, thank you Jesus for saving my soul, Amen!”

Congratulations for all who received Jesus as Lord and Saviour! Welcome to God’s Family. Join a Christian Church in your community and grow in Christ. God bless you!
